I would like to invite you in this now moment, to take a deep breath. Really feel into the calm and the quiet space within you. This is a noisy and busy world you all find yourselves in. This is a world that tells you to constantly strive, to constantly measure up and to constantly do better. And so in their way, humans are always on a search for more. A search for bigger and better.
Now I am not saying that this is at all a bad thing, to a point. However when one cannot look at themselves, truly look at their present state and be at peace with it, then one will forever miss out on life and its gifts, for they are always looking to the future.
The problem with a competitive world is that while you are hearing the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) chants of “you are not good enough”, all of a sudden the people around you become your competitors. All of a sudden in some ways, the other loses their humanity. They are no longer your neighbour, colleague, friend, sister or brother. They are direct competition and a way to measure yourself up.
This can happen in subtle ways. Even just the quiet envy of someone else’s life. In a world that constantly chants “more”, that constantly chants “better”, a world that constantly chants “you are not enough”, humans are losing focus. And what humans sorely need right now is to say “enough”.
You are enough, you are God incarnated, you are the all and I know for many that is something hard to relate to, but it is there in the still spaces of the now moment. One simply needs to take a pause.
Humanity is sorely missing kindness right now. Kindness towards self and kindness towards others. Understand that we are all One. That cashier looking back at you is God, is you. That man that just cut you off in traffic is God, is you. Your neighbour with the fancier house, your peers that seem to be “achieving” more than you are also God and also you reflected.
When you show kindness to others, when you view people without the label or the filter – and there are many you humans use, you soften yourself. You soften the world a little. You tell the world that they are okay just as they are, they are loved and accepted and you say the same to yourself.
The envy falls away, the competition falls away, the need for more becomes irrelevant. Because all of this world including the messy parts are all perfect. You are perfection and when you look at another being, they are not the filter you choose to place upon them. They are God and they are enough. Just like you are. Nothing in the external world will change that.
